William H. Tinney Ethics in Business Award

William Tinney, known as “Bill” to his friends, was a Rotarian for many years when he helped establish and became a charter member of the Metropolitan Lubbock Rotary Club.  Bill Tinney was a longtime civic leader and former Director of Development for Texas Tech University and the Health Sciences Center.  He served on many civic Boards in Lubbock and volunteered many hours helping agencies in our city give aid those in need.  Bill Tinney was an inspiration to many individuals and his integrity in his business life was admired by all.  The William H. Tinney Ethics in Business Award was created in 1990.    We honor yearly the memory Bill Tinney and his life of service and professional integrity he gave to his community by presenting this award to an outstanding Lubbock citizen who practices these principles in their personal and business life.
