William H. Tinney Ethics in Business Award

William Tinney, known as “Bill” to his friends, was a Rotarian for many years
when he helped establish and became a charter member of the Metropolitan Lubbock Rotary Club.
Bill Tinney was a longtime civic leader and former Director of Development for
Texas Tech University and the Health Sciences Center. He served on many civic
Boards in Lubbock and volunteered many hours helping agencies in our city
give aid those in need. Bill Tinney was an inspiration to many individuals and
his integrity in his business life was admired by all. The William H. Tinney
Ethics in Business Award was created in 1990. We honor yearly the memory Bill
Tinney and his life of service and professional integrity he gave to his
community by presenting this award to an outstanding Lubbock citizen who
practices these principles in their personal and business life.
